Much More than Autoharp....
Although singing and playing the autoharp has been the backbone of VJ's performance career, life has demanded much more. Modelling, em-ceeing, imitating showbiz talents as a Celebrity Lookalike, cabaret shows, working with other musicians from one piano player to a 16-piece orchestra as a "girl singer", public speaking, hosting TV Telethon fundraisers, one-woman shows for charity groups--all have found VJ wearing many hats and playing many parts. Who knows what lies ahead??

Not quite "THE FABULOUS PALM SPRINGS FOLLIES"...
Here, VJ appears at the Palm Canyon Theatre in
Palm Springs. With lovely Elyssa Guardino, a
ballerina and Broadway dancer, the two were
featured as singers and dancing "showgirls" in
"A SALUTE TO IRVING BERLIN", produced by Derrik Lewis of "Musical Chairs". |
VJ as Julie London for "Celebrity Superstars"
Joining the Tribute Artists
who imitate the sound and look of celebrity
entertainers, VJ transforms into 50's torch
singer "Julie London". Performing such songs
as "Cry Me A River", VJ has sometimes been unrecognizable
to friends in her audience! |

VJ Goes Country in Las Vegas !
WHO? Yes, all three of these singers were
recently debuted in Las Vegas by VJ. Paying
tribute to JUNE CARTER, LORRIE MORGAN,
and TAMMY WYNETTE, she appeared at the
Gold Coast Hotel in the popular show,
"HONKY TONK ANGELS".
Making backstage quick-changes required
timing and efficiency, but VJ never had more
fun in any show! |
VJ meets Tammy Wynette!
See any resemblance? At a wax museum, VJ at last meets her late lookalike! Prior to appearing in Las Vegas as Tammy, VJ's research included Tammy's autobiography, videos of her shows, a book by her daughter, and analyzing her music and accent to learn her style. The best thing she had going for her was a face similar to the real Tammy's!

Country Club Shows

VJ's CABARET SHOW
Some of VJ's first jobs in showbiz were Cabaret. She still continues to perform some of her favorite evenings in cabaret-style performances....singing in different languages, playing several instruments, telling stories, and varying the pace from comedy to torch songs. Fronting Orchestras and Bands....
VJ appears with bands of all sizes, from duos to ten-piece orchestras. Here, she fronts the "Stan Miller Sextet" for an evening of standards, jazz, ballads, and good old dance music of all stripes! |
Music for Private Parties...
Working with Julliard graduate Maestro Robert O'Connor at the grand piano, at a reception in Rancho Mirage. VJ's favorite music is the torch song, with its special mood, but varies an evening's song styles with ballads, blues, and, of course, songs in ten languages. |
